Although baby teeth are eventually replaced by permanent teeth, it’s important to remember that healthy baby teeth are important in the development and growth of a child’s permanent teeth.
A child’s first tooth can erupt before the age of 6 months, and that one tooth is a very important first step towards a healthy child’s mouth. Cleaning your baby’s gums and newly erupted teeth with a soft washcloth is highly recommended after each meal or bottle.
Teeth should be cleaned after meals and after medicine use. Toothbrushes should be replaced every three months. Please check with your dentist about when and what toothpastes are appropriate for your child before using.
For evaluation of a broken tooth or a knocked out tooth, please contact our offie as soon as possible. If you think your jaw is broken, get to an emergency room as soon as possible.
